Gentleman's Library
No two projects are alike. In our approach, we layer three fundamental elements: client story, historical provenance, and design direction. Combined, they create the framework for our design and renovation process. This “Gentleman’s Library” was born of the client's love of books, primarily comprised of an extensive collection from his adjunct professorship at Princeton University, summers as a child spent at Camp Winona in Maine and a love of squash. Tucked into the third story of a Queen Anne home in Swarthmore, PA, our design nods to the historic libraries of England, from inlay wood patterns from wood strip canoes, to antique felt-covered shelf backing, like that of old churches in the area. Family heirlooms and treasures collected over time, like the crystal chandelier, create a magical award-winning space.
